ScoreCardHQ is an independent review platform dedicated to helping consumers and business owners make informed decisions. We research, evaluate, and rank service providers, products, and companies across a wide range of categories — from LLC formation and mortgage lending to home services and everyday retail.
Founded on the principle that honest information should be accessible to everyone, ScoreCardHQ operates without the conflicts of interest that compromise many review sites. We don't accept payment for rankings, we don't use affiliate links, and we don't publish sponsored content disguised as reviews.
Our team includes researchers and writers with backgrounds in business, finance, law, home improvement, and consumer advocacy. We're based in the United States and focus primarily on services and providers available nationwide, though some categories include regional options where relevant.

The internet is full of information, but finding trustworthy guidance is harder than ever. Search results are cluttered with affiliate-driven content, sponsored placements, and reviews that prioritize revenue over accuracy. For many people, making an important decision — choosing a contractor, selecting a business formation service, finding a mortgage lender — means wading through pages of unreliable information.
We believe there's a better way. By maintaining editorial independence and publishing transparent methodologies, we aim to be the resource we wish existed when we were making these decisions ourselves.
What Makes Us Different
No Affiliate Links
Most review sites make money through affiliate commissions, creating an obvious conflict of interest. The Federal Trade Commission requires disclosure of these relationships, but disclosure doesn't eliminate the underlying bias. ScoreCardHQ operates differently — we don't earn commissions when you choose a provider we've recommended. Our rankings are based entirely on merit.
Focus on Quality
Instead of listing every option available, we curate the best. Our goal isn't to be comprehensive — it's to be useful. If a provider doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't make our list, regardless of how popular or well-known it might be. You won't find lists of 50 options where #1 and #47 are treated as roughly equivalent.
Show Our Work
Every review includes our evaluation criteria, the factors we weighted most heavily, and our reasoning for the final rankings. This helps you understand why we reached our conclusions, and allows you to apply your own judgment if your priorities differ from ours.
Update Regularly
A review from two years ago may no longer be accurate. Providers change ownership, adjust pricing, improve or degrade their service quality. We revisit our reviews periodically to ensure they reflect current reality. Each review includes the date of our most recent update so you know how fresh the information is.
FTC Disclosure
The Federal Trade Commission requires review sites that earn affiliate commissions to disclose those relationships. You can read more about these requirements in the FTC Endorsement Guides↗ . ScoreCardHQ has no such relationships to disclose — we earn no commissions and accept no payment for rankings.
Our Editorial Standards
Independence
Our editorial team operates independently from any business relationships. We do not allow providers to review or approve content before publication. We do not accept payment for favorable coverage.
Transparency
We disclose our methodology, our criteria, and any limitations in our research. If we couldn't fully evaluate a provider for any reason, we'll note that.
Accuracy
We verify information through official sources whenever possible, including provider websites, government databases, regulatory filings, and industry associations. When we rely on user reviews or secondary sources, we note that as well.
Fairness
We give providers the opportunity to respond to our assessments and correct factual errors. We aim to represent each provider's offerings accurately, even when our overall assessment is critical.

While we work hard to provide accurate and up-to-date information, ScoreCardHQ is not a substitute for professional advice.
